About The Hubs

You may have seen me mention this guy around my blog a few times.  The Hubs and I met in 2002 at the age of 20, and were each other’s first real loves.  We were engaged in 2003, and married in 2005 on what ended up being the hottest day of the entire year.  Thats him above, June 25 2010 on our 5th wedding anniversary.

A self-professed geek, he loves science, video games, Star Wars and all things techy.  He knows computers inside and out, which is why it’s no surprise he’s an IT Analyst.  He showed me how to copy and paste on a computer, I had no idea, I didn’t have a computer at home until I was 17.  I was a technology virgin, The Hubs gave me my first laptop.  Now I’m a bit hooked.   I say we are a perfect match, because I’ve managed to kill at least 5 laptop keyboards so far, and I’m guessing not everyone keeps spare computer parts around their house?

He’s usually calm, practical and level-headed; which is great because he tones down my crazy.  Then again Sam Robert’s music doesn’t send me into a fit of rage and I’ve never wrapped my t-shirt around my head to look like a ninja.

I taught him how to make chocolate chip cookies, he in turn is teaching me how to get rice to come out perfect (must be from all his Rice-a-Roni days as a bachelor!).  I pretty much hated sports before he came around, but winter now means Toronto Maple Leafs on the tv (hockey for anyone sports-challenged like me!).  We’re one of those couples that makes you gag because we’re kissing and holding hands in the car or walking in the grocery store.

He has seemingly unending patience with me, like during the time I was so agoraphobic I could barely walk down the street.  Or all those times of him having to drive up and down the street with me panicking because of my phobia of  riding in the car (the crazy is in the title for a reason, see?)  With his help I can do things I couldn’t do for years, like actually go places, like anywhere!

He’s been awesomely supportive (is awesomely a word?  Well it should be).

As The Hubs tells my sister, ‘You need to get yourself a geek!”.
